Collaboration with Academia

 

To better understand how structures perform, Simpson Strong-Tie teams up with other researchers across the U.S. Simpson Strong-Tie regularly donates products to universities for testing purposes and volunteers time to teach courses. On occasion Simpson Strong-Tie will also lend financial support to further research efforts.For example, it recently donated $500,000 to California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, for the construction of a new laboratory to test structural components.

Ongoing collaboration with various researchers allows Simpson Strong-Tie to learn from others, share its expertise and provide a broader knowledge of structural safety, helping the industry as a whole to build safer structures. In addition to Cal Poly, Simpson Strong-Tie has worked with the following universities:
