HUCQ Heavy Duty Joist Hangers

The HUCQ series are heavy duty joist hangers that incorporate Simpson Strong-Tie® Strong-Drive® wood screws (SDS). Designed and tested for installation at the end of a beam or on a post, they provide a strong connection with fewer fasteners than nailed hangers. See structural composite lumber hangers.

Material: 14 gauge.

Finish: Galvanized. Some products available in ZMAX® coating.

Installation

Options: These hangers cannot be modified.

  1. Uplift loads have been increased 60% for wind or earthquake loading, with no further increase allowed.
  2. See additional engineered wood product sizes.
  3. Structural composite lumber columns have sides that show either the wide face or the edges of the lumber strands/veneers. Values in the tables reflect installation into the wide face. See technical bulletin T-SCLCOLUMN for values on the narrow face (edge).
