Name of product: Acrylic-Tie AT30
Potential Number of Units Affected: Up to 455 cartridges, distributed in North America only
Manufacturer: Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc.

Hazard:  Simpson Strong-Tie® has learned that a certain, small quantity of its AT30 Acrylic-Tie product manufactured in 2010 is defective and will not achieve its specified load-carrying capacity. Simpson Strong-Tie is therefore voluntarily recalling AT30 Acrylic-Tie product with lot numbers 361Z420Z and 361Z416Z, manufactured and sold from July 2010 to June 2011. Use of the defective Acrylic-Tie AT30 product from these two lots may cause the anchor or other load-carrying element to fail, which could cause property damage, bodily injury and/or death. All other lots of AT30 have been evaluated and determined to be free from defect. Simpson Strong-Tie has taken corrective action to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Remedy:  Lot numbers for this product are located at the bottom of the cartridge. Customers or distributors who may have purchased or used AT30 Acrylic-Tie with lot numbers 361Z420Z or 361Z416Z should immediately contact Chris Paterson with Simpson Strong-Tie at 925-560-9000 or 800-999-5099, between 8am and 5pm PT, Monday-Friday. Any unused AT30 Acrylic-Tie with lot numbers 361Z420Z or 361Z416Z should not be sold or used. If you have used the product, Simpson Strong-Tie will inspect the installation to determine if there is a problem. Simpson Strong-Tie will replace unused defective AT30 Acrylic-Tie product at no cost. 

Sold by: Distributors in the professional concrete, lumber and commercial construction trades from July 2010 to June 2011.

Note: This recall does not include any other size of AT Acrylic-Tie product, such as AT13, AT10, or FAST-PAC.
