About the Program

Our training program for builders and contractors is designed to improve product installation in the field. The program includes our training kit series, which provides step-by-step instruction about how to install products used on job sites everyday. The training kits feature an instructional video, an instructor guide and a student guide. All of the materials are provided in both English and Spanish, and are accessible via a CD-ROM or DVD, which is provided in the kit. The kit is intended for use by builders who actively participate in the training program. The videos and CDs/DVDs also are available to anyone interested in learning more about installing Simpson Strong-Tie products.

Training Kits - Connector Training for Contractors Series

Basic Fastener Installation

Introduction to Joist and Beam Hangers
	This kit identifies the differences between typical face mount and top flange hanger installations, and teaches participants how to correctly install joist and beam hangers. Introduction to Mudsill Anchors
	This kit identifies proper mudsill anchor installation methods, discusses framing considerations and applications related to mudsill anchors, and educates the installer about common misinstallations. Introduction to Plated Truss Products
	This kit provides participants with a product overview of the different hangers and truss types. Participants will learn the correct methods for installing plated truss products and some common misinstallations. Cold-Formed Steel Connectors Installation
	This bilingual DVD video identifies proper Cold-Formed Steel connector installation methods, discusses framing considerations and applications related to CFS construction, and educates the installer about common misinstallations. This DVD includes electronic copies of all the materials previously included in “Kit” form. Steel Strong-Wall® Shearwall Installations
	This kit teaches participants the correct installation methods for installing the Steel Strong-Wall® in a variety of applications while avoiding some common misinstallations.
