How much does it cost to attend a Simpson Strong-Tie workshop?

Nothing. All our workshops are free of charge.

Does the program offer Continuing Education Units or Professional Development Hours (PDHs)?

Yes. Qualified professionals may be awarded Continuing Education credits and / or PDHs for attendance at Simpson Strong-Tie workshops. See the individual workshop descriptions or Continuing Education Credit page for more information.

Please contact you're certifying of licensing organization or agency directly to inquire if they accept CEUs from IACET providers.

How many hours of credit is equivalent to .1 CEU?

The awarding of the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a recognized method of quantifying participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. One CEU is defined as ten contact hours of time spent in such an educational experience. A typical full day workshop usually offers 0.7 CEUs which is equal to 7 contact hours.
10 hours = 1.0 CEU
7 hours = 0.7 CEU
One hour = .1 CEU

Do I have to pass a test in order to receive CEU?

In order to receive Continued Educational Units (CEU) you must first meet all of the workshop completion requirements, and then attain an 70% on the online test. You are allowed three attempts at passing the online test associated with the workshop that you attended.

Do I have to pass a test in order to receive PDH?

No, you are not required to take a test in order to receive PDHs, however, you are required to attend at least 90% of the workshop.

In "Your Workshop History" under "Status": What does an "Attended" Status mean?

An attended status means that the participant has met the attendance requirements for a workshop and has been awarded Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for the quantity of contact hours that were offered for that workshop.

What does a "Passed" Status mean?

A passed status means that the participant has met the workshop completion requirements and has also passed the online assessment associated with this workshop. Participants that receive a passed status have been awarded the quantity of CEUs that were offered for that workshop.

What does a "Self Enrolled" Status mean?

This participant has self enrolled in a scheduled class which has not yet taken place.

What does an "Enrolled" Status mean?

This participant has been enrolled by a Simpson training representative for a class which has not yet taken place.

What does a "K" Status mean?

This participant failed to meet one or more of the attendance requirements outlined in our IACET Program Completion Requirement Policy .

What does an "X" Status mean?

This participant has cancelled from a class that they were previously enrolled in.

What time does the workshop end?

Normally for an all day workshop the hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted. See the individual workshop descriptions for more information.

Can more than one person from our office attend?

Absolutely. We have no limits, other than first come first served by registration only.
