To fulfill fiberglass orders of our Simpson Strong-Tie® Composite Strengthening Systems™ (CSS) solutions for structural reinforcement per assigned specifications. Our fabrics include both unidirectional and bidirectional carbon and E-glass, and are custom ordered and cut to size.
|% Time||Job Responsibilities|
|70%||Select, mix and apply resin/catalyst mixture to fiberglass matting on a molded surface in repeated layers to achieve the desired thickness.|
|20%||Understand and interpret the fiberglass process.|
|5%||Knowledge and ability to manually operate related tools.|
|5%||Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.|
|Required or Preferred||Degree or Certification|
|Preferred||High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)|
|Years||Type of Experience|
|3 Years||Working in a manufacturing environment.|
|Skill Knowledge or Ability||Explanation|
|Math||Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.|
|Language||Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.|
|Reasoning||Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.|
Travel Required / %: This job requires domestic travel, >5% of the time.
This full-time, non-exempt position is located in West Chicago, IL.
Relocation will be considered SST Baltimore Employees currently in this position.
