Header Setter/Operator (Screw and Nail machines)

Position Summary:

Operate single die cold heading machinery in both screw and nail manufacturing areas. Responsible for manufacturing fasteners to print, meeting production targets, and setting machinery and tooling to produce various small fasteners in both carbon and stainless steel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

% Time Job Responsibilities
75% Operate a single die cold header to produce fasteners.
10% Set-up heading machinery and tooling to produce fasteners.
5% Check finished parts to ensure they meet production standards.
5% Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain machinery settings to ensure constant production reliability.
5% Read and interpret engineering prints; partner with Quality Assurance to ensure continuous production quality.

Education & Certification Requirements:

Required or Preferred Degree or Certification
Preferred Technical qualification/trade apprenticeship preferred
Required High School Diploma


Years Type of Experience
2 years Prior experience operating similar equipment in production environment.
2 years Prior cold heading experience required.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Skill Knowledge or Ability Explanation
Math Ability to use measuring equipment and calculate figures and measurements down to 3 decimal places. Ability to read engineering drawings, understand fine tolerances, material flow and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Language Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to other employees within organization.
Reasoning Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables encountered in manufacturing situations where quality is foremost. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Travel Required / %: This job does not require any travel.

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Gallatin, TN.

Relocation will be considered for this position.
