Human Resources Business Partner

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) aligns Human Resource initiatives with business objectives. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues and acts as employee champion and change agent.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

35% Develop, implement and manage HR initiatives to achieve productivity, profitability, employee engagement and overall success of the business. HR initiatives may include performance management, succession planning, employee engagement, compensation, and HR systems and processes, etc. Provide on-going training and communication as necessary.
25% Coach managers in their development by providing feedback, insight, and challenging them to reach leadership success. Assist them in motivating, developing, and mentoring employees.
15% Establish recruiting practices and processes as appropriate. Discuss needs and recruiting strategies with managers. Screen and interviewing applicants. Monitor job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks. Improve organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices.
15% Manage and resolve employee relations/union issues. Maintain in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal as needed/required. Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation. Conduct investigations as necessary.
10% Lead, direct and motivate direct reports using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems.
Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization.

Education & Certification Requirements:

Required or Preferred Degree or Certification
Preferred BA Business or other applicable degree
Preferred SPHR or SHRM-SCP

This full-time, exempt position is located in Gallatin, TN.
