ICS Sales Specialist


Position Summary

The ICS Sales Specialist is an integral position to the Company's sales force. The ICS/ Truss Sales Specialist will create and maintain good relationships with customers such as Truss and Component Manufacturers as well as other users of Truss and Engineered Wood Systems software. The position is based out of the Philadelphia, PA or Baltimore, MSD area, and covers the following markets: Central & Eastern PA, VA, MD, DE, NJ, CT RI, Eastern NY, VT, NH, MA and ME.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

% Time Job Responsibilities
60% Identify opportunities, understand competitive trade-offs, and work with other sales team members to provide "No-equal" focused knowledge and technical support to customers.
20% Provide leadership and training to the fellow Simpson sales team members.
20% Provide positive representation for the Company at industry associations.

Education & Certification Requirements

Required or Preferred Degree or Certification
Preferred Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) Degree with emphasis in business or marketing

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Skill Knowledge or Ability Explanation
Math Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Language Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
Self-management Set priorities, goals and timelines to achieve maximum productivity. Manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Display a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.
Analysis/Reasoning Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Writing Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Computer/Software Ability to utilize Microsoft Office suite, working knowledge of SQL databases, and basic understanding of computer networking, along with hardware and software troubleshooting.

Travel Required / %: This job requires domestic travel, 60% of the time.

This full-time, exempt position is located in Philadelphia, PA or Baltimore, MD.

Relocation will be considered for this position.
