ICS Technical Support Specialist

Riverside, CA

Position Summary

The ICS Technical Support Specialist will provide implementation, training, and support for Integrated Component Solutions (ICS) customers. ICS software is used by component manufacturers and design professionals; encompassing Truss, Wall Panel and Engineered Wood Products (EWP) design.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

% Time Job Responsibilities
45% Respond to technical support calls in accordance with defined procedures. Validate customer software issues and develop and execute a response plan.
35% Support Simpson Strong-Tie sales team with software demonstrations. Coordinate projects between customers, sales, and the Engineering Services division.
20% Provide onsite (customers’ locations) installation and training for internal and external software users. Write software reports and strategies, and maintain the company client database. Establish and execute training curricula in accordance with customer needs. Develop and maintain relationships with a new and existing customer base.

Preferred Bachelor’s Degree (B.A/B.S.)

Experience

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Skill Knowledge or Ability Explanation
Math Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reading Comprehension Ability to read and interpret construction documents including architectural and engineering drawings.
Speaking Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Writing Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Analysis/Reasoning Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer/Software Ability to utilize Microsoft Office suite, working knowledge of SQL databases, and basic understanding of computer networking, along with hardware and software troubleshooting.
Driving record Possess and maintain a driving record which complies with company policy.

Travel Required %: This job requires domestic overnight/extended travel, 33% of the time.

This full-time, exempt position is located at 12246 Holly Street, Riverside CA and services the Southwestern territories of the United States.
