You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. As an Inventory Analyst you will drive the deployment of demand data and strategic initiatives to manage the flow of materials across the supply chain in a way that maximizes on time delivery while minimizing inventory and support the customer and the business by developing schedules that drive world-class customer satisfaction and inventory levels. You will manage multiple complex projects and drive outcomes with optimal results. You will use analytics to create and implement strategies for continuous improvement and inventory optimization. You will be an expert in inventory control and production planning procedures within a fully integrated ERP System (SAP) while practicing lean techniques.

What You'll Be Doing

% Time Job Responsibilities
35% Responsible for inventory planning and right sizing stock levels including, but not limited to; inter-branch orders and buyouts, addressing customer backorders, moving inventory as required. Owns customer service metrics and ensures high level of customer service satisfaction from a supply chain perspective. Manages branch-wide inventory leveling and logistics/truck building analysis to optimize existing inventories. Performs days of supply analysis, exception message analysis, backorder analysis, forecast variance analysis for key product groups for the branch. Ensures supply chain related master data is maintained timely and correctly.
30% Lead, organize and direct all scheduling activities for the plants including establishing sequence and lead time of each production operation to meet customer requirements. Oversee the generation of work orders and production schedules for the movement of inventory through the production process. Investigate production control issues, analyze root causes, and derive solutions. Ensure production related master data is maintained timely and correctly. Initiate and coordinate inventory and production control improvement activities.
15% Effectively communicate with inside/outside sales, production, shipping/receiving, purchasing, and inventory control from all branches utilizing SAP and other reports to gather and streamline interdepartmental information to assist in making logistical decisions.
15% Demonstrate an ability to root-cause by analyzing sales trends and changes, inventory turns, inventory control and warehouse capacity. Evaluate product stock status, safety stock, and forecasting. Ensure Plant master data is maintained timely and correctly. Utilize Lean principles to assist in establishing new processes as needed to ensure orders are fulfilled timely and efficiently.
5% Acts as a power user within the SAP Forecasting and Inventory Optimization tools (DCF, DCC, DCO, DCP etc.). Identifies opportunities for improved inventory turns. Performs detailed data analysis for inventory optimization and presents data in reports and graphs to management.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Preferred Undergraduate degree in mathematics or supply chain or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of required experience in inventory and demand planning or supply chain planning and scheduling.
  • Required experience in SAP or other comparable ERP system.
  • Required experience using and interacting with MRP systems.
  • Required advanced reporting, designing and data analytic skills.
  • Required advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Analysis: Ability to analyze and collect data and make sound business judgments.
  • Self-management: set priorities, goals and timelines to achieve maximum productivity. Manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Analyze processes and suggest changes in order to increase efficiency and enhance profitable operations while maintaining a safe work environment. Display a high level of initiative, effort, reliability and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.
  • Teamwork: Build and sustain cooperative working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task.
  • Problem Solving: Identify options for solving a problem and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses.
  • Speaking: Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be fluent in English.
  • Writing: Write in a clear, concise, and organized manner for the intended audience and be able to correspond in English.

This job requires approximately 10% domestic travel.

This full-time position is located in Pitt Meadows, BC.

This position reports to the Director of Plant Operations.

Relocation is not available for this position.
