Maintenance Lead (Swing Shift)

Stockton, CA

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Lead oversees the repair and maintenance of equipment and systems and leads the team on the swing shift for our fast-paced, high-volume sheet metal manufacturing operation. Perform work involving skills in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

% Time Job Responsibilities
30% Assign work to maintenance technicians and ensure work is completed according to standards and instructions. Perform inspections. Aid maintenance technicians in completing work efficiently, including repairs, preventative maintenance and set-up and install of new machinery.
20% Train maintenance technicians on equipment and processes used in the department. Continuously pursue opportunities to improve current processes in collaboration with supervisory team and maintenance team.
15% Secure outside contractors for repair work while controlling costs; consumables, parts, etc.
15% Order repair parts and maintain inventory of tooling and repair parts required for service and repairs. Develop and maintain good vendor relationships. Investigate and analyze new sources of supply.
15% Communicate effectively with Production Operations to assure all work is being performed with satisfactory results.
5% Update the department project and status board, known internally as a Gemba board.

Education & Certification Requirements:

Required or Preferred Degree or Certification
Required High school diploma
Preferred A.A. degree or equivalent from two-year technical school
Required Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification (will certify at hire)

Minimum Experience:

5 Years Proven experience in a fast-paced, high volume and high demand working environment where prioritization was required while leading people.
5 Years Related work experience ensuring others complete work timely and in a safe manner, while maintaining positive relationships.

Manufacturing process knowledge Demonstrate a basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods. Able to read and understand a part print and translate it to a physical finished good.
Safety Ability to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating a safe work practices by promoting a safe work environment.
Leadership Able to adapt leadership style to a variety of situations.
Communication skills Speak in the most effective way to relay information. Listen and ask questions to ensure understanding. Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, effective listening skills, and communicate clearly with team members, management, and a diverse business customer base.
Self-management skills Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
Ability to work independently Follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
Quality standards knowledge Demonstrate an understanding of quality standards and quality control processes.
Equipment and tools Able to operate a forklift. Demonstrate knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance. Able to read a tape measure to within 1/32” as well as read a micrometer, caliper and use pin gauges to check part quality.
Computer Able to operate a computer, ERP systems and basic applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Customer service skills Apply customer service principles and processes on the job and with others.
Ability to work overtime Able to work overtime as dictated by business demand.

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in 5151 S. Airport Way in Stockton, California.

Relocation will not be considered for this position.
