Maintenance Technician

Gallatin, TN

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance of facilities, machines and equipment within the plant. The Maintenance Technician will work within a team of maintenance professionals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

% Time Job Responsibilities
60% Perform preventative, predictive, and breakdown repair on all critical machinery, auxiliary equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Troubleshoot Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic equipment including PLC controls.
20% Machining / fabricating parts for production equipment and process improvement upgrades.
10% Assist in determining available options and order parts needed to make necessary repairs to equipment and building.
10% Assist in establishing an effective, professional relationship with contractors for building and facilities projects.

Education & Certification Requirements:

Required or Preferred Degree or Certification
Required Journeyman/Technical School Certification or Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electrical field.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Skill Knowledge or Ability Explanation
Maintenance & Repair Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical power systems. Must have detailed knowledge of PLC controls and automation. Must have working knowledge of heating, air conditioning and building maintenance.
Reading Comprehension Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Analysis/Reasoning Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Mathematical Reasoning Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Safety Ability to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating a safe work practice by promoting a safe work environment.
Quality Ability to follow work instruction precisely, add materials accurately and maintain ISO documentation.
Work Independently Ability to follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Gallatin, TN.

Relocation will not be considered for this position.
