Shipping Lead (Swing Shift)

Stockton, CA

Position Summary:

The Shipping Lead ensures employees in the department are working safely and are shipping, receiving, and stocking finished goods needed to fulfill internal and external customer orders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

70% Communicate effectively with all employees, giving job assignments and scheduling daily work, ensuring work is being done safely. Apply knowledge of shipping and warehouse processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods. Utilize leadership and problem-solving skills. Effectively lead on the floor looking to continuously improve current process with improvement ideas and maintaining a positive attitude. Train employees on various types of equipment and current processes that are used in the department.
10% Complete shipments using ERP system. Pull, package, and palletize products for shipment according to work orders which call for fulfillment using various methods such as parcel packages, will call, less then load, and loaded truck. Create and apply documents, such as shipping labels, packing list, and bills of lading for each pallet/shipment using ERP system.
10% Receive, check, and rotate products either from production or other branches. Ensure incoming and outgoing shipments meet packaging, customer, and quality standards. Load and unload trailers and trucks using a forklift.
10% Re-stock, clean, and rotate inventory. Identify, tag, store and locate finished inventory. Clean, restock and maintain a clean and efficient warehouse system. Audit daily forklift checklists.

Education & Certification Requirements:

Required or Preferred Degree or Certification
Preferred High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification (will certify at hire)
Required D.O.T. Haz Mat Training (will certify at hire)

Experience:

1 Years Lead role with shipping, order picking, and forklift driving experience.

Shipping, warehouse, inventory knowledge Demonstrate a basic understanding of shipping, warehouse, inventory processes, and other techniques for maximizing effective distribution of goods.
Equipment Operate forklift, reach truck and electric pallet jack.
Safety Ability to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating a safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment.
Communication skills Speak in the most effective way to relay information. Listen and ask questions to ensure understanding.
Self-management skills Use time efficiently to complete tasks.
Ability to work independently Follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
Customer service skills Apply customer service principles and processes on the job and with others.
Quality standards knowledge Demonstrate an understanding of quality standards and quality control processes.

This full-time, non-exempt position is located at 5151 S. Airport Way in Stockton, California.

Relocation will not be considered for this position.
