The Engineering Support Technician collaborates with Branch Engineers, Training Manager and Sales Managers to provide technical support and large project quoting to a diverse customer group. This unique position relies on extensive knowledge of construction practices (especially wood framing) and our product lines, familiarity with internal quoting programs, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and rational decision making to support our internal and external customers.
|% Time||Job Responsibilities|
|65%||Investigate and answer internal & external customer inquiries related to all Simpson product lines (connector, lateral, ICI and fastener), product usage, and other technical inquiries. Communicate production capabilities and limitations and provide information on allowable product modifications. Questions are via phone inquiry, email or in person.|
|15%||Act as primary or back up for quoting various product lines and assist Literature Coordinator as needed.|
|10%||Develop tools (literature, spreadsheets, templates, etc.) to improve communication and efficiency.|
|5%||Assist with internal training on technical topics related to the use of Simpson Strong-Tie products.|
|5%||Special projects as directed by the Branch Engineering Manager or Branch Engineers.|

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in McKinney, TX.
