Technical Sales Representative — Concrete Construction Products

Maple Ridge, BC

Position Summary:

The Concrete Construction Products (Anchors and RPS) Technical Sales Representative will create territorial forecasts and build effective relationships with customers such as specifiers, distributors, contractors, and end users in the following territory: predominately within British Columbia and infrequently within Alberta. Concrete Construction Products is made up of the following product lines: Anchoring Adhesives, Drill Bits, Mechanical Anchors, Gas/Powder Actuated tools and fasteners, Repair/Protect/Strengthen systems and Cold Form Steel clips/connectors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

% Time Job Responsibilities
80% Identify opportunities, customer-based value selling, understanding competitive trade-offs, and work with Sales Managers, other Sales Representatives, and Customer Service department to provide "no-equal" products, knowledge, and technical support to customers.
20% Provide training to Simpson Strong-Tie’s customers and inside / outside sales team members for all Concrete Construction product lines. Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at industry association events. Occasional time spent merchandising our products in retail environments.

Education & Certification Requirements:

Required or Preferred Degree or Certification
Preferred Bachelor's degree (B.A/B.S.) with emphasis in Construction Management or Engineering

Experience:

Years Type of Experience
4 years Related outside sales experience in concrete construction type products (mechanical and adhesive anchors, restoration, concrete repair, coatings, or FRP strengthening). Experience calling on jobsites and engineers is a must for this individual. Experience reading plans and interpreting specifications is required.

Language Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals and general specification. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Analytical Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Driving Record Possess and maintain a driving record which complies with company policy.
Travel Travel from home daily with frequent overnight stays.

This full-time, exempt position is located in Maple Ridge, BC.

Relocation will be considered for this position.
