The ATUD and TUD are suitable for rod diameters from 1/2" up to 1 3/4".

Material

ATUD—ASTM B221 6061-T6511 Aluminum; TUD—ASTM A311 Class B, Grade 1144

Finish

ATUD—None; TUD—Corrosion Resistant Finish

Installation

  1. Install the specified bearing plate over the threaded rod onto the bottom plate of the wall.
  2. Install ATUD/TUD, with either end up, over the threaded rod and onto the bearing plate with the activation pin facing out.
  3. Install specified plate washer and then nut on top.
  4. Finger-tighten nut plus an additional 1/3- to 1/2-turn with a wrench.
  5. Remove shrink wrap from ATUD/TUD.
    IMPORTANT: Do not remove activation pin until nut is installed.
  6. Remove activation pin.

  2. No further steel stress increase allowed.
