Product Details
The SURC and SURLC are 45°-skewed hangers designed to support 2x and 4x members in wood construction. These U-shaped hangers feature concealed header flanges providing cleaner visible lines in exposed conditions. These are identical except that they are skewed 45° to the right (SURC) and the left (SULC), respectively.

- Features obround nail holes on the acute side, allowing nails to be easily installed parallel to the joist
- These hangers cannot be modified but will accommodate a 40°- to 50°-skewed joist
- A2 (acute) flange turned in to accommodate end-of-wall installation

Installation
- Use all specified fasteners; see General Notes.
- The joist end may be square cut or bevel cut.
- Fill all round and obround nail holes with specified fasteners to achieve table loads. Where noted, triangle holes in the joist flange may be filled for additional uplift capacity.

- Uplift loads have been increased for earthquake or wind loading with no further increase allowed. Reduce where other loads govern.
- Roof loads are 125% of floor loads unless limited by other criteria. Floor loads may be adjusted for load durations according to the code provided they do not exceed those in the roof column.

- Uplift loads have been increased for wind or earthquake loading with no further increase allowed: reduce where other loads govern.
- Triangle nail holes may be filled (requires web stiffeners) with SD9112 screws for additional uplift
- SURC/SULC 9- and 11- inch models have (4) additional holes, that when filled can resist 715 lbs. for Douglas Fir or Southern Pine or 615 lbs. for SPF/HF.
- SURC/SULC 14- inch models have (6) additional holes, that when filled can resists 970 lbs. for DF/SP and 835 lbs. for SPF/HF.
- When the supported member is an I-joist with flanges less than 1 5/16 inches thick, the allowable uplift shall not exceed 155 lbs. without web stiffeners.
- Allowable downloads are based on a joist bearing capacity of 750 psi for EWP, 565 psi for DF/SP solid sawn lumber, and 425 psi for SPF/HF solid sawn lumber.
