Yield-Link® Engagement Process (Steps 4, 5, 6 and 7)
Step 4: Construction Documents
Along with the frame elevations, Revit families and Yield-Link moment connection schedule, Simpson Strong-Tie also generated a typical detail sheet for engineers to incorporate into their document set. Master specification for the Yield-Links can be included in the specification set.
Step 5: Quoting
With the Yield-Link moment connection information from the structural documents, customers can contact Simpson Strong-Tie for Yield-Link pricing information. Call Simpson Strong-Tie at (800) 999-5099 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for a quote. There are no licensing fees or minimum square footage for using the Yield-Link moment connections.
Step 6: Detailing
Simpson Strong-Tie has created TEKLA and SDS/2 custom components for our Yield-Link moment connections to assist detailers in locating the beam and column holes at the special moment connection region. Contact Simpson Strong-Tie for a copy of the custom components for detailing with TEKLA or SDS/2.
For those not on the TEKLA or SDS/2 platform, please contact Simpson Strong-Tie for a Yield-Link detailing sheet. The detailing sheet has all the information a detailer will need to locate the holes in the beam and column at the Yield-Link moment connection.
The Yield-Link moment connection is also included in the SDS/2 software.
Step 7: Ordering/Shipping
Whether you install the Yield-Link moment connections on the jobsite or in your shop, Simpson Strong-Tie can work with you to deliver the Yield-Link moment connection parts to your preferred location. For each moment connection, you will receive (2) Yield-Links, (2) buckling restraint plates, and (4) spacer plates. Contact Simpson Strong-Tie for shipping options.
