The Steel Strong-Wall for cold-formed steel provides high-capacity, narrow wall solutions for cold-formed steel framing. The wall is a prefabricated, steel panel that helps structures resist lateral forces such as those created by earthquakes and high winds. This code-rated wall installs easily in cold-formed steel framing and features preattached steel studs for easy attachment of interior and exterior finishes.

  1. Specify height when ordering "X" models (example: S/SSW12x8X, H = 95").

  2. S/SSW series panels are all steel assemblies and are available with pre-attached nonload-bearing cold-formed steel studs.

  3. Registered design professional shall specify required height for applicable S/SSW width. Example specification S/SSW12X H = 103 inches.

  4. Top plate screws for the S/SSW panel must be 1/4" diameter or No. 14 self-tapping screws recognized in an ICC-ES evaluation report complying with the IBC, with a minimum nominal shear strength (Pss) of 2,000 lbs.
