Component Solutions® Software System Requirements

Continuous improvement based on customer input is a cornerstone of our software development strategy. Our sales and development team will be working closely with users to identify areas where we can expand functionality to increase versatility and efficiency in future releases.

Sufficient hardware is required to realize the benefits of our powerful and flexible software solutions. In order to get the most out of your software, be sure to reference our current software requirements.

Supported Operating System and SQL Server Client Systems 

  • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit or Windows 11 Pro (Home Edition not supported) 
  • SQL 2016, 2017 or 2019 Express 

Server 

  • Windows Server 2016, 2019 or 2022 
  • SQL Server Standard Edition 2016, 2017 or 2019 
    • SQL Server 2019 Standard (recommended) 
    • SQL Express Edition not supported on server

Hardware

Client Systems 

  • Intel 8th Gen i7 or equivalent performance1 
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 200 GB SSD 
  • Graphics adapter supporting OpenGL 3.33 (4 GB of dedicated video memory) 
  • Internet 

Server 

  • Dual Xeon Silver 4210 or equivalent performance
  • 32 GB RAM 
  • 500 GB4
  • [2+ drives configured with RAID striping (RAID 0, 5, 6, 10)] 
  • Gigabit Ethernet 
  • Internet 
  • As with any server, a recovery plan with offsite backup is highly recommended. 

Notes 

  1. Intel 8th Gen i5 supported for limited workflows. 
  2. 8GB RAM supported for limited workflows. 
  3. 2GB video RAM supported for limited workflows. 
  4. A solid-state drive (SSD) is recommended for optimal performance. 
  5. Client and server systems must be on a domain to support multi‑project reporting. 
  6. SQL Express has a 10 GB limit and is not supported on server. 

These recommendations are a generic specification that assumes hardware manufacturers publish appropriate data to determine compatibility. As we incorporate customer requests to change or enhance the Component Solutions software, and in recognition of technology changes, we reserve the right to periodically publish updated hardware and operating systems requirements.
